The first references in notarial documents to Monnàber Vell date back to 1236, after the Catalan reconquest. The premises' rustic, fortified character was altered in the seventeenth century, when it was turned into a stately country estate.

In 1998, the estate became an agritourism hotel and a meticulous reform was carried out in 2005 to turn the old stable into a restaurant, install a new swimming pool, reform and redesign the terrace and gardens and expand accommodations capacity to 15 rooms.
